West Suburban Community Pantry - Brand Refresh + Website

West Suburban Community Pantry is a local food pantry in the Chicagoland area. As their client needs grew, their website and branding needed to reflect their friendly staff, helpful services and offerings, as well as opportunities to donate and volunteer. Our work helped give the pantry a fresh look and feel while also enhancing the ease and use of their website.

A Fresh Website

I created a family of web template designs based on the hierarchy of information needed throughout the site. The project also called for some new graphics to bring all of the content to life, so I created custom fruit and vegetable illustrations to accommodate the bounty of information on each page, as well as a new icon system that we utilized to populate links in a fun visual mega navigation.

Built responsively.

It was important to compare and consider the mobile and desktop experience closely, as their range of audiences also meant a range of accessibility accommodations as well as variation in devices accessing the site.

Expanding the West Suburban Community Pantry brand was integral in helping them feel more distinguished on the web. When designing assets, I utilized flat color blocks alongside their existing photography library, and also illustrated fun new fruit and vegetable graphics. The culmination of these new and improved assets helped to better reflect and showcase the pantry’s positive & vibrant impact, people and efforts in their community.
